Welcome

Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life, you are very welcome at Christ Church Sidcup.

What time do you meet on a Sunday?

Each Sunday we meet at 9 am, 10:30 am and 6 pm. Our 9 am service is a small and traditional service of Holy Communion. The 10:30 am service is our main service with live music, a crèche, and groups for children and teenagers. While our 6 pm service is again smaller and more contemporary.

Where does the Church meet on a Sunday?

Christ Church Sidcup, Main Road, Sidcup, Kent DA14 6NJ. We are on the 321 bus route and just 5 minutes walk from Sidcup High Street. We are opposite the Harvester Pub.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in and is ‘normal’ for you. There is no dress code. Some people will come in suits and nice dresses, while others will come in shorts and t-shirts.

Are children welcome at Church?

Yes! Children are welcome at all our services but we provide groups for them at the 10:30 am service. A crèche for babies and toddlers. Christ Club for primary school aged kids. Pathfinders for teenagers in year 7 to year 9, and CYFA for teenagers in year 10 to year 13. All these group meet on a Sunday morning.

How do you make Church accessible for all?

We are working hard to make our church more accessible for everyone. Please have a look at our Accessible Church page to see what is already in place to support those with additional needs. There is also a form there to let us know what adjustments/support you may need or to make any suggestions to improve accessibility in any way.

Do I have to join in?

There are songs, prayers and a time of Holy Communion but please only join in with what you are comfortable with. If you would prefer to sit and watch then that is fine. We have created a short playlist of songs on YouTube that we sing at Christ Church if you would like to introduce yourself to them.

Can I watch the services online?

Yes we live stream our 10:30 am services. We do this for two reasons. Firstly, so that people who are new to Church can get a feel for what Church is like. Secondly, for those who for whatever reason cannot make it that Sunday. Our Online Services are a wonderful resource but they are nothing compared to the real thing. So please give them a watch and then come along. We would love to meet you!

How can I learn more about Jesus and Christianity?

We are passionate about helping people get to know Jesus for themselves! So we’ve created some online resources that answer your questions and introduce you to Jesus. We also run termly courses that explore the Christian faith, and even if you are not a Christian you are always welcome to come along to Church and see what it is all about.

Do you do anything midweek?

Yes we as a Church do lots during the week for kids and for adults. We have groups for mum’s and toddlers, for teenagers, for the actively retired and everyone in between. We also run midweek Bible Study groups to help all our members grow in their faith, plus courses and occasional seminars. There is lots going on!
